Privacy Policy

How AKI CLOSET collects, uses and protects the personal data you share with us. Written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011.

01Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to AKI CLOSET (the “Website”), operated by AKI ENTERPRISES, a private limited company registered in Maharashtra (GSTIN: 27HOBPS4889M1ZU).

Registered office: Office No. 1440, Vathar, Karad Satara, Karad, Satara, Maharashtra - 415539

For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, AKI ENTERPRISES is the Data Fiduciary in respect of the personal data described below, and you are the Data Principal.

02What we collect

2.1 Data you give us

  • Checkout data: full name, email address, mobile number, delivery address, city, state and PIN code.
  • Order data: the items you bought, sizes selected, order value, payment method and the transaction reference issued by the gateway.
  • Communication data: anything you send us through the contact form, by email, by phone or on messaging platforms, including photographs you attach to a return request.

2.2 Data collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed and timestamps.
  • Cookies and measurement: see Cookies & analytics below.

We do not ask for and do not want your Aadhaar number, PAN, caste, religion, political opinions, biometric data or health information. Please do not send these to us.

03How we use your data

  • To process, pack, dispatch and deliver your order, and to keep you informed of its status.
  • To process returns, cancellations and refunds.
  • To verify identity and to detect or prevent fraudulent or abusive transactions.
  • To answer your enquiries and resolve complaints.
  • To meet obligations under Indian tax, accounting and consumer-protection law, including issuing a GST invoice.
  • To understand aggregate usage of the Website and improve it.
  • To send you marketing messages, but only where you have subscribed to them.

05Sharing of personal data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We share the minimum necessary with:

  • Logistics partners (Delhivery, Blue Dart, XpressBees, Ecom Express, India Post and similar) — your name, address and phone number, so they can deliver your parcel.
  • Payment gateway (MMADPay) — the details required to process a UPI payment or a refund.
  • Hosting and email providers — who store the Website and send transactional email on our behalf.
  • Analytics providers — in aggregated, non-identifying form only, and only where those tools are enabled.
  • Government authorities, courts and law enforcement — where we are legally required to disclose.

06Payment data

UPI payments are processed end to end by our gateway partner. We do not store any card number, UPI PIN, OTP, CVV or banking credential on our systems at any time. We retain only the merchant and gateway transaction references and the bank reference number, which are needed for reconciliation and refunds.

07Cookies & analytics

The Website uses a small number of cookies and browser storage keys, all of which are necessary for it to function — most importantly the key that keeps the contents of your shopping bag between pages. These are stored in your own browser and are not transmitted to us.

Where the site owner has enabled them, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel may set cookies that measure aggregate traffic and campaign performance. These tags remain dormant while their identifiers are left blank. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the shopping bag will stop working if you block all storage.

08Data retention

We keep order, invoice and customer-service records for as long as required by Indian tax, accounting and consumer-protection law — typically eight years from the end of the relevant financial year. Marketing-consent records are kept until you withdraw consent. Where data is no longer needed for any of these purposes, it is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

09Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to:

  • Obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
  • Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or completed.
  • Have your personal data erased, subject to our retention obligations.
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the basis of processing.
  • Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
  • Raise a grievance with us and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights, write to grievance@akicloset.com. We respond within 30 days.

10Security

The Website is served over HTTPS. Access to order data is restricted to authorised personnel, administrator passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes rather than in readable form, and payment credentials are never held by us. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply reasonable security practices proportionate to the data we hold, and we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India of a personal data breach as required by law.

11Children

The Website is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to place an order. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child, and we will delete any such data promptly if we become aware of it.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The revision date shown alongside the contents rail is always current. Material changes will be highlighted on the Website, and continuing to use the Website after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

13Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the DPDP Act, 2023, the Grievance Officer for AKI ENTERPRISES is:

Grievances are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days of receipt. Full details of the escalation route are on our Grievance Cell page.
